Abalone Inlaid Ammonite with Black Tahitian Pearl Pendant

This ammonite and pearl pendant is so elegant and unusual.  The tastefully small ammonite has been inlaid with abalone and is absolutely gorgeous.  From the inlaid ammonite, hangs a gorgeous lustrous black Tahitian pearl.  The ammonite is set in an open thick frame, held by prongs on both back and front with a fancy bail, die struck by me from a vintage die, designed in the early 1900's. Ammonites are extinct marine cephalopods with iconic spiral shells that lived from about 240 million years ago until their extinction 65 million years ago.  Includes a chain in 16" or 18".  Shown here with a snake chain, message me if you'd like to inquire about other chain style options. *Please specify  16” or 18” chain under special instructions at checkout.
